Ferdinand Charles Hutter

Ferdinand Hutter was born May 16, 1831 to George Christian Hutter and Harriet James Risque. Ferdinand entered the Confederate army in 1861 as Lieutenant of Artillery and was eventually promoted to the rank of Captain. As Captain, he was assigned to the War Department of the Confederacy. Ferdinand married first Belle Goggin of Lynchburg in 1859 who died three month after marriage. He married second Mary Power Lyons in Richmond in 1864. She was the daughter of the Honorable James Lyons leader of the Richmond Bar, and member of the Confederate Congress
