Tours of Historic Sandusky are by appointment. Please mail us at info@historicsandusky.org or call our office at 434.832.0162 to set up your tour.

The Sandusky experience includes: a video on the Battle of Lynchburg (about 15 mins.) a guided tour of the house (30 - 45min), and browsing our small museum (15- 30 mins.)

University of Lynchburg Students, Faculty, and Staff: Free
Please note Sandusky will be closed on the following days:
New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Public Transportation
Historic Sandusky is accessible using the Greater Lynchburg Transit System Bus Route 6/7. The route has a stop directly in front of the Sandusky entrance and costs $2 per person per ride. Visti GLTC Online for more information.

From the University of Lynchburg
Follow College Street behind the University of Lynchburg's Knight-Capron Library
Turn left onto Westwood Ave
At stop sign turn right onto Thomas Road
Continue straight onto Greenwood Drive/Sandusky Drive
Continue straight onto Pawnee St.
Historic Sandusky's entrance is the first right on Pawnee St.

From Downtown Lynchburg
Take 8th Street to Park Avenue
Park Ave Becomes Fort Avenue, Follow Fort Ave approx 3miles
Turn right onto Sandusky Drive (there is a sign for Historic Sandusky)
Follow to a forced stop, turn left onto Pawnee St.
Historic Sandusky's entrance is the first right

From Appomattox
Follow 460 West towards Lynchburg
Take US 501/ Candlers Mt. Road Exit toward Buena Vista
Continue onto Candlers Mt. Road, Keep left while on Candlers Mt. Road
Turn right onto Wards Road (at TacoBell)
Turn left onto Fort Avenue (at CVS)
Turn right onto Sandusky Drive (there is a sign for Historic Sandusky
Follow to a forced stop, turn left onto Pawnee St.
